Scottish EDGE, the funding organisation aimed at identifying Scotland’s top young, early stage and high growth potential entrepreneurial companies, awarded intelligent Point of Sale funding of £50,000.
It is the second year in a row that Intelligent Point of Sale has been singled out by the Scottish Edge board of seasoned entrepreneurs, bankers and public sector supporters as a company with all the ingredients for ongoing success. The funding award will support the company’s ambitious growth plans.
Robin Knox and Paul Walton, co-founders of intelligentpos, made the final presentation which impressed the panel. Robin / Paul said:
"This caps a fantastic year that has seen the number of clients rise above the 1000 mark. With the support and endorsement from major funding and entrepreneurial organisations, we have outstripped all our targets achieving a firm foothold in the market. We are now in a strong position to continue growing and we’re looking forward to expanding our product range next year. "
What we believe is the key to our success is our background experience of the hospitality and retail industries coupled with the fact that we offer a local support service.
Scottish EDGE is a £5m+ fund endowed by serial entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter, the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC and the Scottish Government.
Sir Tom has said:
“Entrepreneurial businesses are the lifeblood of Scotland and its economy. The Scottish EDGE offers ambitious entrepreneurs a leg up the ladder towards long-term success and hopefully reduces that fear of failure we all know when we put our homes on the line for our business.”
