This FAQ will guide you through the unboxing and set up of your Star Micronics TSP654ii Thermal Receipt Printer.

Ethernet Model

  • Unbox your printer and remove the packaging
  • Your power supply will come in a separate box, locate this and remove any packaging
  • Insert the starter roll of paper into the printer (Ensure paper is inserted correctly by following the diagram inside the cover)
  • Close the cover of the printer with a small amount of paper exposed
  • Connect the CAT5E cable (not supplied) into the network port at the rear of the printer
  • Connect the CAT5E's other end of to one of the yellow ports on your router
  • Connect the power supply to the rear of the printer and then a 13A wall socket
  • Finally switch your printer 'ON' using the switch at the side of the printer
  • The printer status light should turn to a solid green after 30 seconds

Bluetooth Model

  • Unbox your printer and remove the packaging
  • Your power supply will come in a separate box, locate this and remove any packaging
  • Insert the starter roll of paper into the printer (Ensure paper is inserted correctly by following the diagram inside the cover)
  • Close the cover of the printer with a small amount of paper exposed
  • Connect the power supply to the rear of the printer and then a 13A wall socket
  • Turn the printer 'ON'
  • Hold down the ‘Pair’ button for 5 seconds then release (this is located at the REAR of the printer)
  • The green LED will flash and you will have 60 seconds to ‘Pair’ the device with your iPad, the printer's default name is ‘Star Micronics’
  • Once paired wait until the LED stops flashing (It may flash blue once successfully connected)

If you go to 'Settings > Printers' on the intelligentPOS app then 'Search for Printers', 'TSP654' should now appear.
